After 15 months, I have to say Cuisinart CPK-17 PerfecTemp 1.7-Liter Electric Kettle is pretty much perfect compact, great-looking, fast, and reliable. I use it most mornings to make French press coffee I understand its a bit pricier than other water kettles out there, but not many have different temperature settings. The warm up is very quick (does take longer if you mistakingly fill it past the max line).

I actually use the 185 setting a lot to brew my coffee in an aeropress. Cuisinart CPK-17 PerfecTemp gets your water to the right temp and it makes your teas and coffees taste so much better since you are not burning the tea leaves or coffee grounds. I was glad to find a reasonably priced one from Rosewill. Granted I have never heard of this brand and I was hesitant about ordering it. However, this works great and I like that it has an electric pump for the water and you can choose between 3 temperature settings.

Only had this Zojirushi CD-WBC30 Micom for about 9 months but its the best electric hot water unit I've owned. It's definately worth the price. Heats a full 3 Litres in about 22-28 minutes and keeps it hot. It heats and then holds 3 liters of water at your choice of 4 temperatures: 208 F, 195 F, 175 F, or 140 F.

Whenever you want to make a cup of tea, you simply place your cup under the outlet and then press the button. The water temperatures are geared to tea, with the proper temperature for white, green, oolong and black tea. There is a setting for 205 degrees, a good temperature for coffee, but I haven't used it. The only thing that bothered me was the cord was only three ft long- too short. Had to add cable to it.
