Only had this Zojirushi CD-WBC30 Micom for about 9 months but its the best electric hot water unit I've owned. It's definately worth the price. Heats a full 3 Litres in about 22-28 minutes and keeps it hot. It heats and then holds 3 liters of water at your choice of 4 temperatures: 208 F, 195 F, 175 F, or 140 F.

Whenever you want to make a cup of tea, you simply place your cup under the outlet and then press the button. The water temperatures are geared to tea, with the proper temperature for white, green, oolong and black tea. There is a setting for 205 degrees, a good temperature for coffee, but I haven't used it. The only thing that bothered me was the cord was only three ft long- too short. Had to add cable to it.

Love my hot water pot....hot water 24 hrs a day. Never have to wait to get the hot water. Just press a button and your cup is full. The meter on the front of the machine clealy shows the level of the water inside and lets you know when you need to fill it. I filter my water with a Britta filter...and two full pitchers of water is needed to fill up this hot pot.

I've used Zojirushi products all my life, rice cooker, water boiler, thermal lunch boxes, pressure cooker you name it. Ask any member of my family, the first thing they can tell you is that these machines are well made and they last! Reliability: It's Zojirushi!


We never bought a special cleaner for mineral build up. We just used a third a cup of white vinegar, filled it with water, let it sit unplugged for a few hours, gently wiped the insides out with a sponge, and went back to regular use. So far, I have not noticed any mineral build up. I do not know that the coating on the inside will help prevent this in the future, nor do I know if vinegar will hurt this coating though.
